Recruitment of Patent Examiner: 13/06/2011

The Indian Patent office is in the process of recruiting more than 200 additional Patent Examiners with a view to end the back log of examination and to be ready for substantial increase in the number of applications. The Indian Patent Office is having a big problem with examining the pending applications and the Delhi Branch of the Patent Office is reported to have the highest number of backlog. These Patent Examiners are expected to be inducted by the end of this year. However it is to be seen how fast these new examiners are trained and start effectively contributing to the system. The ambitious plan of the Indian Patent Office to act as ISA will heavily depend on training of the new examiners and effective modernisation of the existing system.
