Only 11% passed in the Indian Patent Agent Examination2011: 20/06/2011
Result of the Indian Patent Agent Examination 2011 shows that only 11% candidate could clear the Exam. Does this indicate the standard of the examination very high! We do not think so. Indian legal education including IP specific courses unfortunately do not give much importance in practical aspects of IP, rather these are theoretical. The fact most of the candidates failed in the drafting of specification paper clearly indicate so. We, all the stake holder of the system, should develop a long term plan to address this issue.
We are happy to report our only candidate attorney passed out without much difficulty.
